Update: After 4 years of reliable service my trusty Powerbook had it's first major failure. This evening when I went to open it up the screen was almost completely blank. Upon a close inspection I could see that there was a tiny bit of light and that the screen appeared to be fine, just couldn't... Read full review »

Pros It's gorgeous and it's a Mac! Beautifully made, great screen.
Cons It bucks the trend for cheaper and cheaper computers ... that are all plastic junk.
Recommended it? Yes

Egomaniacs like me just love the new PowerBook G4. It's safe to say that it's larger than life, with the full resolution needed to design software or run programs like Final Cut Pro or Motion.

And so it was Christmas, and Santa, in the guise of my business partner, was kind enough to... Read full review »

Cons Burner can be a problem.

My current laptop is an Apple PowerBook G4 17" 1.67GHz. Like most of my computer purchases I bought this early-2005 PowerBook used. As an architect, I wanted the wide 17" screen that this model has for 3-D modeling. It works great for that purpose. In addition, I've come to appreciate the ease of... Read full review »

I decided to purchase this 17" PowerBook because I liked the large screen vs. other models. I purchased before the announcement that Apple would move to Intel processors by 2006.

Would I purchase this laptop after the announcement? Possibly...

It is still a very elegantly... Read full review »

Apple rules in view and vision.

There are so many things to tell about any Apple system. Like a wine with separate taste, it is not for all.

With Microsoft deep in the core of Apple, the system becomes more then a simple consideration. It does all a person needs to do, like with... Read full review »

Pros Computer for those that prefer quality over anything else. Fast, easy to use.
Cons Lacks some of the legacy equipment like 3.5 inch drives
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this computer, a 12 inch G4 PowerBook, in late 2004. It is April 2007 and this computer is still going strong. First of all, it does everything that a windows computer can do, but better. It is super reliable and the battery is great. I have probably put this computer through more hell... Read full review »
