Pros Phone, PDA, Music Player, 3 G Internet all in one
Cons Bulky compared to a regular phone, pricey
Recommended it? Yes

This is the holy grail of mobile devices. There is not another product, that is subsidized by a major carrier, that offers the following: Windows Mobile 5.0, High Speed 3 G internet access, International Voice and Data Capabilities. 2 Megapixel Camera with flash and Macro, Windows Media Player 10.0... Pros Feature RICH, PDA functionality, decent phone reception, good battery life, expandable &...
Cons Jack of all trades -- master of none (cliche but true); expensive, especially with...

After several weeks of research online, comparing this phone to 8125, Blackberry Curve/Pearl & various Treos, I found this to be the best PDA phone on the market today. It's got a huge 2.8" QVGA screen slide out qwerty keyboard (blue backlight) and runs Windows mobile 5 (full version not the... Read full review »

Pros Everything in one place, and functionally!
Cons Not perfect, but as good as you can get right now.
Recommended it? Yes

I had been waiting for a true "All-in-one" smart phone that had:

Phone
Camera
HTML Web Browsing
WIFI
Full Keyboard
PDA
MP3 Player

This phone fills all of those roles well!

I have been using it for a couple of months, and do far I am happy... Read full review »

Pros Qwerty keyboard, Voice activated dialing works well, customizable buttons for simplicity...
Cons Big, heavy, different from anything your used too. Expensive.
Recommended it? Yes

I am a manager of a Cingular store. I have only been working for Cingular for about 1 year. I had never before seen the point in text messaging. (why push 50 buttons to get my point across, when i can push 7 and talk to you). However that is how everyone in my industry communicates, so naturally I... Read full review »

Pros Truly international, excellent reception, clear calls, well made, good for light browsing
Cons New model in pipeline (current model lacks HSDPA, videocalling and Windows Mobile 6).
Recommended it? Yes

UPDATE In discussions with AT&T they claim 8525 has HSDPA upgrade. Will add to review when I get back to US and can check this out.

I bought my 8525 in San Francisco 2 weeks back. I had tried to decide between it and Treo in NY and WI but neither store had anyone who had a clue what they... Read full review »

3G logo is a flame because it will burn you up how slow it is!

Pros Gadget, Clear and loud conversations, car charger not included.
Cons Slow, Expensive plans to get full use, separate charge for text versus data (internet)

This is my first pocket computer/PDA device ever. My review is from someone going from a standard Nokia 3120 (phone with an alarm and calendar) to this new Cingular 8525 pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5.0. The most similar item that I own is a Navaman ICN 510 navigation unit which I have reviewed... Read full review »

Cons Bulky, Short Battery life, Stock Operating System and programs are lacking.

The year? 2007.  My wife was notoriously standing over my shoulder tapping her foot as I plugged away on my desktop reading and responding to emails.  Checking RSS feeds, and responding to blogs and forum messages.  She had a laptop that I had bought her for our anniversary and I was using it from... Great SmartPhone, especially w/ Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade

Pros Free Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 Excellent Keyboard Bluetooth Stereo Support Wi-Fi, plus...
Cons Thicker than most wireless phones Battery may drain quickly if you stay constantly...
Recommended it? Yes

Most of the PDA user experience is based on software, instead of hardware, but I'll try to focus on this hardware device instead of the Windows Mobile operating system.

The phone feels great in the hand, but it seems a little too thick when you put it in your pocket, or a small purse. Of... Read full review »

Unreliable

Pros Great idea. Has all the functions I want in one package.
Cons So unreliable that it is worthless.
Recommended it? No

If this phone worked, I'd love it. Schedule is great, the handwriting recognition is fun, sound quality is good, spreadsheet is nice. Unfortunately, it is a piece of junk.

The first one, the Speaker crackled and it dropped calls a lot. The "sort" function didn't work on the task program... Read full review »

Truly All-in-one, except as a PHONE

Pros Does nearly everything a standard computer can do, very powerful PDA with wifi capability.
Cons Doesn't work worth a dang as a phone. It's a big bulky too.
Recommended it? No

This thing has all the bells and whistles, but is no good as a phone!

I moved up from my V3 RAZR for this thing. WiFi, big screen, windows mobile 5, cool! After a month of trying it out, I had to switch back. Why? It was completely horrible as a phone.

With the RAZR, to make a... Read full review »
