Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'd recommend it because of the ease of use aside from the fact that it is a bit expensive to upgrade. I have had no problems with it since upgrading.
The Acer T180 is great for the first time PC buyer. It has all the functionality you could ask for. If you don't have computer savvy or need any hard core PC functionality, this PC is for you, but you want to look into getting more than the standard 512 Megs of DDR2 that I got with mine. I purchased it from Best Buy in June of 07 and have had no problems with it as far as crashing or locking up as long as I didn't attempt to play high graphics games or watch 64 bit video or better until I upgraded the video with a 512 Meg PCI Express Video card and two 1 gig sticks of RAM.
It came with these features:
250GB SATA hard drive
512Megs DDR2 (need more RAM to run Vista and other things)
Acer Empowering Technology (very handy program from Acer)
Dual Layer DVD-RW (add 12 bucks and get a LightScribe for disk labelling)
Front side 9 multi-media card reader (CF,SD, SDD, CMM, etc.) with extra USB
Onboard audio, video, ethernet
4 USB ports in the rear of the chassis
AMD64 Dual core CPU ( I avoid Intel like the plague)
Memory and video easy to upgrade. I would recommend a 512 Meg video card and 4 full Gigs of RAM because of the Vista OS.
I didn't opt for the 17 inch LCD, it was a bit expensive through BB.
I am not wild about Acers technical support. If you know your way around a PC then you can handle it. If you have problems you cannot fix then your best bet is to return it to where you bought it if able.
