Pros
Cheap price - $40.00 for pair on E-Bay Decent cabinet construction.
Cons
One piece of damping material in box. Marginal tweeter unless crossover modified.

The Bottom Line:
Not bad as is if you like a bright upper midrange and highs, otherwise do the modifications and I would rate the sound it above average.
After a few modification I find these speakers to sound pretty good. There was only a single piece of damping material on the rear wall of the enclosure so I added additional fiberglass to the back, one side wall and the top and bottom. The bass was deepened and more defined. The bass bandwidth seem to extend down to 40Hz without any problems. It should be noted that the bass was not noticibly "boomy" even with the original configuration.
I found the the tweeter/midrange to be excessively "bright" and was able to tame it down by inserting a 6.2 ohm, 2 watt resistor in series with the wire to the tweeter/midrange. The crossover used a 2-pole (capacitor/inductor) high-pass filter and I disconnected the choke and the upper midrange seemed to be much cleaner. I plan to try a soft dome tweeter later. All-in-all not a bad deal for $40.00. I would consider these a bargain for 3 times this much if you make the inexpensive modifications mentioned. Feel free to E-mail me if you have detailed questions.
