This is a multi purpose toy that is great for all excursions.
Portable televisions used to be a joke. They had terrible picture and/or sound quality, and were just not durable. The times have changed, and now most portable t.v.'s are in color! Camping and other outdoor activities will never be the same, and the Axsion ACN-5503 is a great product.
Axsion is a French company, however they seem to understand how to make a good television. This 5 inch portable is in full color, and is very useful. It has a detachable battery compartment, that will hold 9 D sized batteries. It has a four way power source, so you can hook it up to a car cigarette lighter or other electrical source. It comes with the car adaptor and the usual UL/AC adaptor. It has a recharge circuit switch so you can gas up your rechargeable batteries, and comes with an excellent telescopic antenna. The channels on the television include 2-6 VHF, 7-13 High VHF, and 14-69.(UHF) It has a total power consumption of 24 watts, so it is quite efficient. This television comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty as well, so you have peace of mind. Total weight is 5 lbs, so its very easy to bring to places.It also comes equipped with a side A/V port, so you can use it with a VCR or video game console if you so desire.
I really like this television, and its quite capable of most t.v. tasks. The color is stunning for a little television, and there is no blurring of the colors. It is crystal clear, and there are no glare issues. The sound is great, and the one speaker works really well. Tuning is a cinch, with the tuning mechanisms on the bottom. Of course you don't only use the tuner for the television, it also comes equipped with an AM/FM radio. This is a multipurpose toy! The tuner slides really well, and tuning is excellent. You can manipulate the antenna's length to get the desired effect. (Slides smoothly)
My only complaint is there is no battery life indicator. The tv works fine for 2 days when camping on battery power, which is pretty good.
