I purchased the 700HD directly from Adcom. I was offered a generous trade in on (GSP 560) against the retail purchase price. I selected the HD because of the reviews of the powerful video scaling of the Nat-Semi processor and the muscle of the large toroidal transformer, which I needed to run triad speakers rated at 4 ohms (3.2 min). My orignal plan was for a Denon 4308 - however, I was informed that the Denon is not stable at these levels. The Denon is loaded with features but lacks the power to drive low impedance speakers for extended periods of time. I rolled the dice and picked the Adcom based on its reputation of delivering high quality products at reasonable price point and some limited reviews available on-line. In my set up, the 700HD acts as the central nervous system handling both video and audio (5.1 and 2 channel stereo). The 700HD thus far has been very impressive with movies (i.e. star wars episode 3, batman, etc..) and in 2 channel stereo. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.
