Adcom GFR 700 NOT worth the $2000 price
I purchased a GFR 700 a few months ago for $2000. The unit worked fine and and sounded fine as well. My friend recently purchased a Denon AVR 3806 for $820. I purchased the 700HD directly from Adcom. I was offered a generous trade in on (GSP 560) against the retail purchase price. Adcom = High current for low impedance speakers == Great Sound for the money
Some other reviewer commented saying Denon AVR3806 did as much or better than Adcom at less than half the price. If you look at the specs of Denon, it cannot drive 4 ohms speakers for example. People who have such speakers as Magnepan, Martin Logan etc have speakers that require a high current... Read full review »
