The Bottom Line:
Transmits FM. Not many MP3 Players do this.
I give this product a 7 out of 10 based on the fact that it can transmit FM. If you are a serious audio file you might want to skip. This is not precision sound. There is mild electronic background noise, not incredibly noticeable but still there. It has a signal to noise ratio of 96 dB and a THD of 0.1 %. The FM broadcast lacks some dynamic response. It would be great if it was 105 dB and 0.01% for precision audio. It uploads data at about 20 MB per minute so figure 1 hour for 1.2 Gig.
The battery lasts approx 3 hours when using the fm transmitter for your car radio. I expect more energy usage because of the fm transmission. Get the car adapter if you can.
The unit is somewhat bulky, especially compared to an Ipod. It weighs a lot (6 ounces I think). If you are going to run avoid this one. Software is somewhat easy to use. If you have been around electronics, It is easy to navigate and adjust. I used windows media player, made playlists and had no issues.
A little scary the first time you use it. I had to download the firmware, if it is accidentaly powered down during this I think it's rendered useless.
