When I was first introduced to minidisc technology, I was actually looking for a Sony; the benchmark of all electronic software that is mainstream and rather cheap J, yet I was rather upset when I drifted over to my local Myer Emco, I was disheartened to see that they were all backed up for several months. The local store clerk told me about a spin-off company of Sony called Aiwa. My first impression of AIWA was bad, because their boom boxes are crud. I mean look at them, UGLY.
Anyways, I decided to buy it, fully knowing that I would give it back when the new batch came in. I was pleasantly surprised with It. The first batch of mp3?s I ripped on it worked fine. The battery lasted long and I was able to label my songs and sort them as I wished, electronically. The minidisc player is great for taking songs off the radio, a concert, a local recording, or anything in particular.
What was really great was the 74 minutes of music. Anyways, the actual AIWA product brought me over. The sleek steel design was great. I loved it, until the Sony?s came in. I gave it back, and bought the Sony, which was worst! Eventually I went back to the AIWA. What a buy at $279, possibly less. One of the best portable music buy?s I?ve gotten since the invention of the portable cd player.
