Party is at the Mattson's! They have an Aiwa!

Pros superior sound, quality speakers, easy to use
Cons not cheap, need room for all 5 speakers
Recommended it? Yes
There was only a category for the Aiwa AV-D55 and not
the model we purchased (AV-D25). I guess ours is more than
2 years old, so it's old news. Sorry if this is in the
wrong area.

When my husband and I moved into our new home after getting
married, we both knew one thing. We had to get a good stereo
system since neither of us owned one. Music means a lot to
both of us and we wanted a system that was high quality and
affordable. After looking in dozens of stores, we ended up
buying a system, which included the Aiwa AV-D25 stereo
receiver.
This was 2 years ago and we have been happy
with our purchase ever since. You an definitely jam with
this system and any type of music sounds great, from classical
to heavy metal. We also bought an Aiwa CD Player to go
along with our receiver, but that is another Epinion all
together.

The following are some features of our Aiwa receiver:

* comes with AC cord, jacks, and plugs that are color coded.
AM and FM antennas for better reception also included.
* comes with 5 speakers: front, center, and surround speakers.
They are easy to connect by using simple terminal flaps on
the back of the receiver. Speakers can be located all around
the room for better surround sound.
* custom audio adjustment, which includes: memorized volume
control with levels from 1-31 (we use around a 7), mute
option, T-bass system, sound adjustment during recording, DSP
(digital signal processing) surround sound (can create effect
of sound being reflected from walls and ceilings. There are
4 modes: dance, hall, arena, and live). This is very cool
since the different modes sound so different and you can
select the one that fits your mood and the music being played.
* electronic graphic equalizer to balance all the modes.
* connections for radio, recording, television, video, compact
disc, cable tv, and dvd.
* plays DVD recorded in Dolby surround sound.
* manual tuning or FM and AM. Mono tuner function as well. Very
easy to tune into your favorite stations or browse.
* direct tuning of desired stations and presetting of favorite
stations. Also preset number tuning.
* connections for Dolby surround sound. The 5 speaker set
connects easily for Dolby sound and sounds incredible.
* adjustable speaker level balance and noise sequencer.
* clock that is easy to set (unlike most receivers).
* sleep timer so receiver turns on or off at specific time.
* power output of front amplifier is 65 watts per channel
and in Dolby sound, it's 50 watts per channel.
* nice black color and easy to clean by using a dry cloth.
* easy to use light weight remote control. Uses 2 AA
batteries which haven't run out in 2 years.

We truly love this receiver. It is attached to our Aiwa 5
disk CD player and together, they make for a high quality
stereo system. The 5 speakers the receiver comes with have
great sound and can be easily moved around a room. The wires
are very thin, so they can be stapled to the carpet or under
furniture. The speakers are relatively small, but they are
very powerful and create clear music. We thought about
buying other larger speakers, but the Aiwa's do the job
nicely. That is surprising for speakers that come with a
receiver. We thought they would be lower quality than ones
we could buy seperately.

You can also buy a Aiwa subwoofer to enhance the current
speakers. This is a good item to add if you watch a lot of
movies that need the sounds for more realism. Aiwa also
has other home theater systems, CD players, mini stereo
systems that are portable, DVD players, TV/VCR combos, car
audio systems, headphones, microphones, speakers, micro
systems, and many other high quality items.

Overall, we love this product and have had no problems with
the receiver or CD player from Aiwa. We bought our system at
Best Buy. The receiver was about $200 and same with the CD
player from Aiwa. We would buy more Aiwa products in the
future. For more information on Aiwa products, call 1-800-
