Good Stereo Receiver for Less Than $200
This is one of the first Dolby Digital receivers I have ever seen that has been priced so inexpensively. It also is very good looking with its high quality aluminum and plastic construction; it is also rather heavy at over 20 pounds. I am very impressed with the quality of the sound created by this... Home theater on a budget.
I bought this receiver about 4 months ago to go along with my DVD player. It has a built in Dolby Digital decoder with optical and coaxial digital inputs. The total system wattage is about 350 watts or 70 watts per channel with a five channel system.
The main reason I bought this receiver...

This is why it is called dope
The folks at Aiwa must of been smoking the stuff when they put their name on this joke of a system but this is a great system if you are replacing a clock radio, I've had this system for over 4 years and it really is the worst for music, and sports, never can get it set up to sound half decent. The... Read full review »
Excellent base for any system
I have been rebuilding a good stereo system since my old Magnavox small system failed to continue to work. I have found that Aiwa is an excellent brand, both for quality and for price.
The Aiwa AV-D57 is truly a great receiver for anyone who is trying to build a high quality and...

A great buy for the power and sound, but a little difficult to operate
The Aiwa AV-D57 is certainly not the greatest receiver out there but it is the best you can get for $180. It has a total power handling of 350 watts, which with decent speakers was able to make my house shake. The surround features are very good, for whatever or how many speakers you have. If you... It's just ok, there is one better.
The AV-D57 is a good unit if you only want to hook up your TV or maybe your CD player. But if you want to hook a DVD to the system this is not the right unit to get. There is not a DTS decoder, and with the current DVD's you will need a DTS decoder. The AIWA AV-D58 is only $10.00 more than this... Read full review »
Great budget receiver!
After blowing $200 on a used Pioneer receiver on eBay, and then having it blow up a week later; I decided it was time to purchase something new with a warranty!
The main reason for getting the used Pioneer in the first place was the number of A/V inputs it had in the back. (It had...

Great value
I purchased this unit 2 years ago, and at the $169.00 price tag did not expect much. After the $20.00 rebate $149.00! I really had planned on using this unit for a short while until I could afford something better, and yes did spend a lot more for another unit. I could have saved my money as this... A Superior system
I bought this receiver in a home theater package that came with Aiwa surround sound speakers and a subwoofer. The system delivers plenty of watts to please anyone and to give you that (at the movies) feeling, it comes with a remote that's fairly easy to figure out and you could perform most of the... Great starter system for the price!!!!
I've had my receiver for about 3 and a half years now and its been good to me. I bought it at Best Buy in the "Home Theater in a box" type thing to go with my dvd player. It works great for movies and video games especially. Since I've had my receiver, Ive become somewhat of an audiophile realizing... Read full review »
