Aiwa Skips Too Much
Pros
Nice steering wheel remote
Cons
Sensitive to skipping
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
The Aiwa CDC-MP32 was one of the earliest MP3 players, but it's lack of resistance to skipping was just too much to take.
I just replaced my first MP3 player, an Aiwa CDC-MP32, with the Sony CDX-MP30 and I am very satisfied. The Aiwa was very sensitive to rough road skipping, which I originally attributed to my Miata's short wheelbase, but with the Sony NONE of the old places I'd encounter on the way to work effect it! In retrospect, the Aiwa's skipping was unacceptable.
I thought the Aiwa's ability to pick up distant stations was good until I got the Sony, which picks up all the fringe stations better.
Sony's remote is kind of useless - I liked the Aiwa's which mounted on the steering wheel much better.
