It's an ok buy....

Pros Can choose two different display colors.
Cons Often skips when playing CD's and CD's jam when being ejected.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I would not recommend this receiver there are better ones out there on the market.
My car currently had a Pioneer Cassette player in it but I wanted to play CD's so I purchased the Aiwa CDC-X517M CD Receiver. I bought it because I thought it looked nice and all of the descriptions about it seemed good saying that it had a lot of different functions. I thought it would be a good deal for the price I paid.
Once it was installed it worked fine. The sound wasn't too much different from my old pioneer cassette player and they had about the same amount of bass and loudness. But once the volume is turned up it distorts bad. The speakers are new so I know it?s not a problem with them.
When playing CD's when driving it will often skip and not all CD's will play. When I try to eject the CD's they jam and make a loud clicking sound. The only way to get the CD's out of this receiver when it does this is to hit the top of my dash or the CD player.
The volume controls are nice and so is the remote. The only down side to the setup on this receiver is the buttons for the different stations. When you are listening to the radio and want to change the station you have to take your eyes off the road for a second to see what buttons you want to push.
