Aiwa Cd Clock Radio FR-TC5500

Pros 3cd's, big snooze button, remote control, gradual wake alarms, stereo speakers, two alarms
Cons Big, no volume on remote, adjustments must be made in on/off state, Laptop-like display
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Buy this only if you want a cd changer.
I bought this clock radio online after reading reviews from other buyers. They make it sounds good as though they worked for the company. Anyway, I was really disappointed when I got it. This thing is ok, not good compared to my previous CD clock radio. Two things that i really did not like its size and the fact that the remote control does not have a volume function. What is the point of a remote control if you cannot use it to change the volume? I though they managed to trim it down by using the T-cone concept but they did not, it is still huge. The people who wrote the reviews were right about the display. You can see it from far away but you have to be standing directly in front of it. Kind of like a laptop display. You have to be within there viewing angle to see it. Operating this thing is quite simple but weird. Some adjustments cannot be made unless the power is on and others must be made in off state. For instance, sleep function must be made in on state and you must hold sleep button down for 3 seconds and alarm setting cannot be changed unless you turn it off. That's means you cannot listen to a CD and set your alarm at the same time.
