I recieved the AIWA NSX-AJ80 mini-system for x-mas, and after returning it because of a defective cd-changer, i was able to setup the new system (same model), and give it a try. The sound that comes from the system is very full, but remember that the dual 8-inch subwoofers require a bit of power to punch, so at very low volumes the sound may not be super deep but when you crank it up (it's 250 watts) it can really pound. The small satellite speakers serve their purpose in widening the soundstage, which can effectively make it so there are no "dead spots" in the listening room.
One thing you have to be careful about is that with the BBE set all the way up, you can hear EVERY little detail in the music... ive heard things in certain songs that i never heard before. I now leave the BBE 2/3 of the way up and the T-Bass at maximum because i love bass (which is why i went for the aiwa.)
Oh yeah and one more thing leave the flimsy removable grilles off the speakers and flaunt those big sub-ports like there's no tommorow!
