UFO's or a Stereo?

Pros Okay sound
Cons Too "high tech" looking- fragile
Recommended it? No
I, for one, have decided that Aiwa is a company which doesn't deserve my money. After looking at all the specs for the mini-systems at my local Best Buy, I plunked down $300 for the one I though was the best. The Aiwa NSX-DS11. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was that it looked much cooler sitting on a Best Buy shelf than it did sitting on my dresser. I spread the speakers out, hooked them up, and then began reading the instructions. Wow. And I thought getting my driver's license was hard! The instructions were in a book, longer than any book I was interested in reading. I put the book down and began fiddling with the buttons. Big mistake. I ended up having to unplug it and plug it back in, then sit back down with the book. I finally got it up and working, and put my first CD in. I was expecting great "surround sound", but what I got was nothing of the sort. Although the sounds wasn't too bad, it ended up sounding just like my old Sony stereo, which only had 2 speakers. The proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back", though, was when the CD shelf broke. I tried to open it a few days after I bought it, and it got stuck halfway out! I was amazed. $300, just so a piece of plastic could get jammed and ruin the whole thing. I brought it back to Best Buy, got my $300 back, and decided to save my money for something worth it.
