I found this unit by accident. I had no intent to buy an AIWA, Ever! But I listened to the unit in the store and played with the functions as well. In a short time, I realized I had to drop my old fashioned image of what a stereo is. This unit seems to have it all. A great Home Theater system, A Karaoke unit isn't perfect. It has worked to remove the singers voice and in some cases too much of the music But I can live with that. The 2 mics jacks with echo response makes it fun for get-to-gethers with friends and family who love to sing together. Surround sound in nice. I have found the controls to be very complex, however, this also adds to the magic of the system. The Complexity may also ease up when I get more used to it. Eight bands of equilization with four presets and four user settings allow for more taylored sound. And for the musician in all of us..... The Spice A and B function allow you to add you own drum beats or many other sounds. It can interface with my computer, VCR, and other devices. Worst function? Hum? I can't win the dang spinning wheels game. Blows the heck out of my son's Panasonic system.
