The Bottom Line:
Probably the best flat screen 20" set for the money. At $248 it is a deal!
I bought the Aiwa F-2000 at Sam's Wholesale Club on impulse. I knew that Aiwa made all sorts of audio electronics, but I was unaware that they were making TV's.
My 12 year old Sony 20" in my bedroom was just starting to have problems and I was interested in replacing it with a new 20" Sony Wega until I saw the prices. After some research, I had decided to buy the Toshiba flat screen 20" (great set and cheaper than the Sony). But then, I stumbled upon the Aiwa at Sam's for only $248 - looked like a great buy to me.
I now have the Aiwa hanging from my ceiling in my bedroom with a ceiling mount. It is slightly smaller and weighs less than the Sony I replaced. The reduced weight makes me feel more comfortable about it hanging from my ceiling.
The picture on the F-2000 is flawless. The colors are vibrant and the picture is sharp even at the extreme corners. The picture is very bright and I dimmed it using the preset "cinema" mode since I mainly watch it at night in the bedroom.
The sound is what sets the F-2000 apart from many sets. For a TV, the sound has excellent power, clarity, and a larger sound stage.
My only complaint about the set (and you make think this is petty) is the cosmetics of the front a/v inputs. The set looks attractive except for these inputs, as they look like they should be covered with a door
