True, it's a tad bit pricey, but it's well worth the price and here's why. Another epinion in this category says that for a little more you could buy a laptop with a DVD player built in, so why waste your money on this. Well, that's true, however it is still an appreciable amount more to go for the laptop.
You also get some nice little things with this DVD player. The remote control is nice for any and all of you who can be as lazy as I am. I sure know that if I'm in the middle of a movie I wouldn't want to get up and walk the whole 3 feet to adjust the volume.
It's also a bit smaller than a laptop. This can be convenient on airplanes where the tray table's are a little small, or on buses or trains. Or cars. Basically anywhere where you don't have much space.
I recently took a trip to Italy, and let me tell you, they're television programming wouldn't last a day in the States. At night my good old DVD player was a lifesaver.
In short, this is a great little device, and if you have the means and need (or if you don't) I say go for it.
