The Bottom Line:
AIWA doesn't seem to care about their reputation. I'm not a big electronics purchaser but I can't believe that all manufacturers have products this unreliable.
We gave this player as a Christmas gift. It began malfunctioning by mid March to the point of shutting off randomly. Also the headset does not play stereo unless the plug is pulled partway out. Our daughter brought the unit with her when she came to visit in mid April. Because it was past 90 days since the product was purchased when I called, Aiwa said tough luck-you pay for the labor. I don't think it's worth paying to have it fixed. Although the unit obviously has a manufacturing defect their attitude seems to be "better we loose one customer than accept responsibility".
