The Bottom Line:
Get this player. It combines all the qualities of MDplayers, MP3 players without their disadvantages. It is very small, easy to use and has great audio playback.
I wanted someting very portable to take with me to the gym. I hesitated between a MiniDisc player, a regular CD-MP3 player or a MP3 player.
6 months later, I can say that I made the best choice. I am very pleased so far with this player, it really combines all the qualities of the other options without their disadvantages.
It is very small, stylish looking, it has an excellent backlit remote and it is very easy to use. It only plays 8cm CDRs, for increased portability.
You can get mini CDR (8 cm) almost everywhere and they are dirt cheap. Each of those Cds can contain up to 210 MB of music. You just have to burn your favorites compilations in MP3 format using your computer regular burner (look closely, your CDRW drive has a "slot" that's destined for 8cm CDRs) and the unit will read them. You can put almost 3 hours of music on one tiny disc, really an advantage.
The unit comes with a cradle used to recharge the internal "gumstick" batteries. With one charge, I can get about 3-4 gym sessions @ 90 minutes each, which is really decent IMO. If you want extra energy, there is an attachment you can fit to the player that contains an extra battery for extended playing time (good for long trips).
The unit gives great audio playback, clean and powerful sound, thanks to the bass enhancement. It will only skip under severe conditions, like heavy running.
