If you are looking for a mini-system with a tuner, CD, and tape deck I think that for the price, this Aiwa product would definitly meet your needs. However, if it is really good volume and bass you are looking for, you should stay away from this product. It has a good alarm feature, for if you want it in your bedroom to help you wake up, it will play a tape, the radio, a CD track, or flip on the sound from a television or other auxilary source. The CD player is quite noisy when a CD is being played. I would liken the sound to "a sharp hissing that cuts through the brain like a hot knife through butter". The tape player works great, and the tuner it a bit over-precice. For example, on most digital tuners, it will skip .2 MhZ per press of the button, (92.5, 92.7, 92.9, etc.) but on this unit it skips .05 per click (92.50, 92.55, 92.60, etc) Now this may be helpful if you live in somewhere with poor FM reception, but in the city and suburbs it is an unneccecary hastle. Basicly, If you like to listen to radio, or your TV on a stero system, this would be great. But if you really really love your CD's you should consiter a similar model with a 3 disc changer and an extra bass system.
