Yes
With the holidays fast approaching, I thought I'd share with all of you a great buy! Aiwa XR-M55.
For under a hundred bucks you can have this complete stereo, cd player, tuner, and cassette player, complete with remote control, 2 detachable speakers with built in subwoofers, even a clock, and timer.
This little stereo, and yes it is little, each speaker is 7 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and 8 1/2 inches deep, the stereo itself is 6 1/2 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and 10 1/2 inches deep. Right now mine is on top of my refrigerator. It's compact size allows you to put it just about anywhere. Although small in size the sound that comes out of this aiwa system is big! "The built in subwoofer system has a separate subwoofer cavity area that is part of the loudspeaker cabinet structure, which acts as a sonic filter to cut distortion components..." I guess that is why I never have trouble tuning in local radio stations. Clear as a bell. Not only do they all come in clear, they come in at slightly different channels...example Wmmr 93.3...comes in clear at 93.15, 93.2, 93.25. 93.36. I thought that was impressive. Wish my car stereo was capable of that!
Cd's sound great too. It is only a one disc system...but what do you want for the size and price. Cd functions are the basic, play, stop, pause, search forward, search back, skip track forward, skip track back, random and repeat play, programmed play, open and close. All accesible from the system or remote control.
Cassettes...if you still got em, you can just pop one in, again either on the remote or the base pick your function, basic stuff...play, stop, pause, fast forward, rewind, eject. Again with these speakers you get good quality sound, not great...we are talking cassettes here.
All in all, I really like this mini stereo. I have never had anything to complain about, the remote is great, easy to program radio stations with, volume of course is more than sufficient, with a great quality sound, graphic equalizer is kinda neat, but not something I usually fiddle too much with. For under a hundred bucks...how can you beat that?
I give it 5 stars...for the money, and size!!!
Definitely a good Holiday gift.
