Good Idea - Poor Execution
Pros
Looks nice. Good picture. Integrated DVD player.
Cons
Quality. Unit completely died in less than two years of regular use.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Cannot recommend this product. Look for more reliable name brands instead.
The integrated DVD player was a great space saver for a TV intended to be a wall mounted unit. The picture quality was quite good relative to other more expensive models. We really liked this unit when we got it.
It was difficult to hang on the wall as the configuration for the bracket mount is not standard. After buying and returning numerous wall mounting arms, we ended up having to drill custom holes in one so that it would fit this TV.
Unfortunately after about 18 months of use, the DVD player stopped ejecting and loading discs. It was a random phenomenon. Discs that wouldn't load or eject were assumed to have been consumed and the unit was to be relegated to TV viewing only, and then a couple of days later it would eject all on its own.
All the sound issues mentioned in other reviews here are true. A sound level of 45 in DVD mode is equal to a level of about 10 in cable TV mode. So when you stop the DVD and switch modes, the volume is excessively loud.
Switching between input source modes should have been easier as well. It had so many input options that scrolling through the sources to go from TV to DVD and back was a nuisance.
All that is of no consequence now. The unit completely stopped working after less than two years of service. Red LED indicates power, but unit won't power up at all. It did work for a few more days by pulling the power cord and then plugging it back in. But now even that doesn't make it work. allow the system
