I bought this product because the factory refurbished unit offered an attractive low price and the performance specifications were comparable to other similar units. Don't ever buy Akai products
Akai -Horrible company! Horrible service! I bought a 37" LCD TV from Office Depot. After 4 months it went out during the 1 yr warranty period. It has been 7 months since it first went out and they say they are sending me a new TV. I'm still waiting... I don't want anyone to go thru the same... Read full review »
Good Idea - Poor Execution
The integrated DVD player was a great space saver for a TV intended to be a wall mounted unit. The picture quality was quite good relative to other more expensive models. We really liked this unit when we got it.

Do not buy Akai televisions
This company is terrible. The TV went out and would not turn back on. They want me to ship it to them on my dime and it is going to take 10 weeks for them to either fix it or replace it. They don't want to do the warranty work. They want you to just forget about it and go buy another TV. Do not buy... Read full review »
So Far/So Good after 1 month's use
I am cheap and have been holding out for just the right deal. I find it difficult to justify 500.00 to 1,000.00 for a 27" LCD TV. The result is that I have been watching the same tube 19" TV in my bedroom for 15 years!
