Display to dim for daytime use
Pros
Excellent reception for both XM and FM. Easy to use.
Cons
Lack of adjustable display brightness.
Recommended it?

I bought this unit for my wifes car. We picked the Alpine because it didn't require a separate XM tuner which would have taken up trunk space. In theory, it should be cheaper this way because of the simpler installation. The unit was $350, and the final price after installation, antenna, etc... was $490. The radio works as advertised and is very easy to use. The manual is well written and easily explains how to use all of the features.
The only downside is that the display itself is too dim. There is no adjustment for the display brightness. The only way to see the display during the day is to put your hand over it to block out the ambient light. The display is perfect for night use, though.
The sound quality is excellent with all sources, XM, FM, AM, and CD.
