dark display, wouldn't buy again
I went with this because of the great price, $221 from a non-authorized online dealer, and because it's one of a few decks that has time delay - a function that I really wanted, plus it is "XM ready" - which it's really NOT - quite yet. Installed it in my 97 Accord, hooked to a Soundstream VGA... Read full review »
Best deck I've ever had
I bought this deck to replace an old school Alpine Cassette deck (TDM???) and it's made a whole world of difference. I wanted an MP3/CD receiver with more sound control and I got all I asked for.
The Display: The display on my old Alpine completely blacked. I wasn't expecting anything...

Wow, simply amazing (and complicated)
So, here's the story. I bought a Pioneer 4600MP first, didn't like it, was missing a lot of features I wanted (sub control, quality remote, equalizer adjustment). Well, lucky for me I decided to change brands to Alpine. I asked the salesman at the audio store which brand is their best seller, and... Read full review »
Dark display, Tuner problems
Player is new for 2004. I have it for 1.5 months.
1. First thing I've noticed when I tried it in the car was how dark the display is. It is so bad that it is almost impossible to see anything at the day light. There is no brightness or contrast adjustment. Second problem with the display is...

I was actually choosing between this and the Pioneer...

Buyer beware
This CD player has a horrible display. I have loved my previous 3 Alpines and was so disappointed that they would sell any deck with such a dim display. It's adequate at night, barely visible on a cloudy day, and invisible in the sun. The display looks so nice in the store...but you're not going to... Read full review »
Decent head unit
This head unit I bought from Crutchfield because it was on sale $80 off, I'm assuming because of an older model. I've had it for almost a year now in my Passat and it has served me very well. It is definately complicated to try to do anything in the EQ other than put on preset EQ's. I really like... Read full review »
