An overly complicated but decent stereo
Pros
pretty lights. decent sound.
Cons
crazy poorly designed and misguided user interface.
Recommended it?
No
This stereo is absurdly complicated -- if you want to do anything out of the ordinary usage patterns, get out the manual -- something I wouldn't recommend while you're at the wheel. This means if you want to change the radio frequency by single steps; change the clock; change the treble or bass setting; change the color of the face; play with the acoustics at all; set the radio to scan for frequencies -- get out the manual, as you'll never figure it out otherwise. The user interface on this thing was designed for the person in the passenger seat, as there's no way it was designed with the driver of the car in mind. I have no idea what the Alpine people were thinking. It's crazy.
I probably should have left the stock Ford stereo in -- that one made some sense.
