Alpine CDA-9833 Car CD / MP3 Player

In searching to replace my head unit that decided to die on me, it seemed that the options were endless. Every manufacturer boasts one thing or the next. I decided to search for a unit with a clean face, most of it's controls close to the driver (on the left side) and a key color that matched my vehicles interior...oh with mp3/wma playback as well. I hunted high and low and found the Alpine CDA-9833. The price scared me away at first but upon hunting around and looking at what other manufacturers had to offer I realized that I would have to bite the bullet, I wanted something with good durability I have heard nothing but good things about Alpine so I went ahead and skimmed epinions. I found a great distributor (discount ave.) that was prompt and I had a great transaction with. I installed my unit in approximately half and hour and then indulged myself in the limitless ways that this unit can be customized. I slid an mp3 CD packed with about 250 files and was pleasantly surprised with the non-existent lag between files and folders. Usually this seems to be a problem with some receivers, not attributed to processor speed. I turned on the media expander, a function that restores sound quality to compressed files as well as all forms of sound that come out of the receiver (FM, regular scratched CDs, etc.). With 26 watts RMS this machine can really dish out the sound even with a stock system like mine. The built in amp., really does make a difference. The short, the unit is phenomenal and there are way to many options to list and describe, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high performing unit with a great display, amazing sound quality, and ease of use characteristic of the manufacturer.
