A great cd plyer for the money!
Pros
This stereo is awsome, awsome sound ..ipod ready, hd ready
Cons
The display in sunlight, can't see very well.
Recommended it?
Yes
I find the face plate the most attractive of all the players out there Good value at $200 or less It's ready for iPod (add $30) It's ready for USB player (add $150)
It's ready for HD Radio (add $250) It's ready for Sirius satellite radio (add $100) 6 Disk CD changer (add $300) If you have an extra $150 you can order the Alpine CDA 9857 with an even better faceplate because it has two lines of display and not one. Sound is great Separate subwoofer outs, and interesting EQ controls, subwoofer volume control it can power speakers but if you have external amps you can turn the internal amp off making the unit more efficient. BBE technology is cool. The buttons aren't logical and they aren't right next to each other. The volume knob is used to change the setting for that item. Then you press the "Mode" button again to exit that setting then use the volume knob to scroll to the next setting you want.
