Man I Love My Car Stereo
Pros
great sound quality, easy to use, nice looking display
Cons
prone to overheating
Recommended it?
Yes
I have to say that i have read a few opinions about Alpine that had some negative words about Alpine, but my experience has been much different.
The company as a whole makes great products. My first Alpine purchase was a cassette deck about 5 years ago, I upgraded to the Alpine CD Player when i bought my new car (you can read my review about the '98 VW GTI). The original cassette deck is now in my friends Jeep and is still performing flawlessly.
Ok as for the Alpine CD Player, I love it. I am a huge music fan and this deck makes the music come alive. It's easy to adjust to your favorite settings and you can program in disc titles and radio station titles. I also have an Alpine Amp in the trunk that performs great. It powers my subwoofer and my two rear speakers. The two units work great with each other (as one would hope) and I really don't have much to complain about except.... well.... unfortunately my deck is prone to overheat sometimes, the radio then shuts off, it is actually kind of strange because i can still play CD's on it. This only happens on long road trips where the heat is on consistently so it's not a huge deal, but for those of you who like to listen to the radio and travel a great deal i would not recommend this unit. For all others this is a great deck and you will not regret for a moment that you purchased it.
