Alpine in the Forester.
Pros
Great tuner, colorful display, good power amp section.
Cons
No CD text unless changer used.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Alpine quality through and through, I would recommend this to ANYONE that doesn't need CD text reading, and that is most people.
I replaced the factory Subaru stereo with this Very attractive 7892, and it's been a dream ever since. The install was painless and it looks like it came with the car. The tilting face is great for those installs that have difficult dash positions, because it has 3 tilt settings and one vertical setting. The tuner pulls in stations like a magnet, even with my in glass antenna. The power section is more than loud enough for most people, and the Bass Engine Plus feature with the MX sounds worlds better than standard loudness and tone controls. My only issue is that it only reads CD Text with the external changer. :-( You would think that at this price, text would be included, but I guess that is asking for too much. The display is very simple to read and very informative. The remote (not really necessary in a Subaru) is very user friendly and even tilts the face!! So far, no problems, and I doubt that I will have any. Alpine quality is obvious in this unit.
