Alpine CDA-7995 Car CD / MP3 Player

I went looking for an MP3 compatible Head Unit to replace a Kenwood eXcelon - KDC x815. I just could not handle the skipping of the Kenwood Unit in my car. (plus I wanted to have 100 songs on a CD :) So off to all the local shops to do some investigating on MP3 HUs. I narrowed the search down to Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer. The sales people at all the shops I went to were against the Kenwoods as they all said that they had complaints about skipping (and no it wasn't me) - so cross Kenwoods off my list. So its Alpine or Pioneer. So I did a side by side comparison of sound quality. The Alpine blew my mind. I could not believe what I was hearing from the Alpine CDA 7995. Then the guy pressed the Media Xpander button (Kind of like loudness but with added clarity for your compressed MP3's) WOW! Then he showed me the difference with the time correction feature and that basically sold it. With a verbal guarantee that the deck would not skip, (as none of the 5 stores that had the Alpines had one complaint of skipping in lowered vehicles in this potholed infested suburb of Toronto) I bought it. So 5 days after a quick and easy home install (20 minutes) there is no skipping, perfect sound and a nice blue glow to my car. Trust me I do not work for Alpine or any audio store, I am just as skeptical about all these "new" features out there as you would probably be, but the alpine CDA 7995 is the best Unit out there for the price I paid. *****/5

This Head Unit does not have a built in amplifier so make sure you purchase the right model for your car. CDA 7894 has 4X60W built in with close to the same features as this Unit. Yes I know most of you already know this but I like to make long winded postings :P
