burnt out unit in18+-month

Received unit as earlyXmas gift in decof2003 had it installed by registered alpine dealer same day, great sound
unit burnedout in july of2005 first lost the function to change stas then back and forth to cd then darkness and no sound unit ran hot all the time but was told this was normal wrote 5 emails to alpine cust serv. as it was given to me by an authorized alpine dealer and never got a reply,although the warrantee was for one year I really expected it to last more than 17-18 mos. Im very upset that they wont reply to emails,I boughtanother alpine ,one step lower but not satellite ready i was hoping that alpine would help me getting this fixed because of their reputation which to me stinks right now ill try to call them tomorrow 10/13/05 and pose my?to them, then I will write another review on their service
