Great sound
AMPLIFIER AND SOUND:
I used to be running an Eclipse head unit in my BMW, powering 5 1/4" components in front and rear, but this Alpine takes the cake. The 60W x 4 amp is incredible. It's my experience that to get the most full sound out of a speaker, you have to have a very powerful amp...

A Cut Above the Competition
When I finally got fed up with my old cassette player, I went with a brand of CD player that I learned to trust years ago: Nakamichi. After installing a CD-45z, I was amazed at how unimpressed I could be by a CD player. It had to go. And, went it did. I decided to go with the new Alpine CDA-9813... Read full review »
Alpine CDA-9813 In-Dash CD Player
As with other reviews that I've read regarding this unit, the first thing that struck me out of the box was the quality. Other CD players I've owned have felt and somewhat looked toyish. No this one. It's well made and looks really sharp installed in my '98 Ranger.
As far as lighting...

I like this HU a lot!
I installed an Alpine CDA-9813 in my car today. I bought it in Ottawa Ontario for $550 Cdn, which is about $120 more than I had originally intended to spend. I looked at quite a few other decks before deciding that this one was the best for me. Some of the other decks that I considered were the... Read full review »
Overall very good head unit
Going from a stock head unit in my 1997 Acura TL, just about any HU would be better. After reading reviews and playing with head units at car audio shops, I ended up buying the Alpine 9813. In the end, it came down to the Alpine 9813 and the Pioneer 8600 (which was a new model for Pioneer). People... Read full review »
This HU is awesome.
Overall:
Great deck on alpines part. Recomend to everyone. Alpine decks are great for the sound fanatic, but lack the cosmetics of other cheaper decks such as, JVC, Sony, or Pioneer.
Pros:
Face plate tilt is a great feature to show someone that they dont have it and brag. Of course...

Good, solid unit - some surprising minor shortcomings.
The pros:
Very powerful at 27 watts RMS per channel. So much power that it has its own tiny cooling fan. One slight installation note: this is a very high-draw unit which is recommended to have its own power wire rather than being connected to the factory wire. I ran mine from the factory...

Happy With My Decision, Again
I just picked up my Alpine CDA-9813 last week and I am quite happy with the quality of sound that this car deck outputs. I put my older model Alpine CDA-W550 in my wife's car. I purchased it at 12 Volt Car Audio & Security in Toronto, Ontario, (416-748-5803) and they even helped me tune it so that... Read full review »
