The Bottom Line:
If I knew what I know now about this unit I would have still bought it.
This unit rocks. I installed multiple amps without crossovers and my old head unit didn't have crossovers. It was much more cost effective to buy this head unit and get the EQ and crossover with it then to buy separate components. Setting it up was easy but I recommend exercising you fingers first.... lots of "push this button once then press it again and hold for 2 seconds".
If you are buying this unit for its MP3/WMA ability you may want to compare its feature with other units. When you browse a MP3 CD the unit lists all the directories weather they are sub-directories of others or not. The same goes for listing the files. You can have a MP3 CD with albums split up in different directories but when you list the files it will show you all MP3's in every directory, not just the directory you are in. The display could also support more characters or scroll names while searching. When you are searching directories or files the names do not scroll so you only see the first 12 characters. On the up side the MP3 seek time is very fast. I have seen units that have problems finding files or it may take a few minutes to play a file. This one DOES NOT take long at all. It also supports both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags which do scroll left to right while playing.... very cool.
I would also recommend reading on crossover settings if you were not familiar with them. The manual explains on how to set it up but does not explain what each setting really does to the sound. If you are an experienced audio expert, and know this stuff already you should have no problems. I like that it gives you the ability to set presets for the crossover and EQ. You can have different presets for different types of music all at the tip of your finger.
If any one is looking to buy an active crossover your best bet would be this head unit for the price. Your get tons of extra features plus the crossover and EQ that you have been searching for.
Other then the problems above everything else is great. The sound is superior to my old unit. Every time I get in my car I find myself pounding the stereo :)
