Alpine has outdone itself with this head unit. The audio is outstanding, the features are state-of-the-art, and the experience is breathtaking for those who love their music to kick a$$.
Alpine, one of the best in car audio. I was in the market for a new head unit and compared to the competition this unit packs a punch and blows the rest away. The sound quality is excellent and the features are second to none. MP3 & WMA file compatible. The display is easy to read in every condition from bright light to auto dim with your car headlights. My old head unit was impossible to read in daylight. Two-line text display if your CD is text encoded for Artist/Album/Song or you could manually put the titles in.
The MX sound enhancement button will change the way you listen to your music in your car. Are you running and amp and subwoofer now? Ever come across those songs that sound puny on the bass and the ones that might actually have too much, or maybe your mom just got in the car? With ONE press of a button you can adjust the output from the head unit to the amp and sub via the main dial.
My old head unit only had treble & bass settings and I eventually hated that. This unit has an internal preset or adjustable equalizer! Tweak your speakers to there optimum performance! Hey you shelled out the dough for 'em, why not use 'em! Along with the EQ comes a built in adjustable crossover to further enhance your speakers capability, not to mention your listening pleasure. With this you can stop the frequencies that should not be sent to your various speakers! If your stereo did not have an adjustable EQ or crossover you would shell out about $300 for a decent processor, not to mention you will have to buy and amp to power it and the speakers which would put you just shy of $1000 just for a separate EQ/crossover!
But the best deal is that Alpine's website contains a personalizer to which you can log on to and configure your ideal EQ, Time-delays, and crossover, download that configuration, burn it to a CD-R, and UPLOAD it to the head unit on the open preset No. 6!
Come on folks you would be a fool to buy anything else. I never regretted this purchase. Perfect for those audio enthusiasts who want affordable state-of-the-art sound.
