/////Alpine 9855 I'm loving it

Pros Mostly everything about it, sound, lighting, and ability to make personalize most of it
Cons No tilting on the remote like the 9815.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Highly recommend it if you have the motor skillz of taming a five inch glide strip (ahhhhhh the horror, just playing)
My first alpine was a 7893, and i started to read reviews on other decks being better than the alpines, for instance the eclipse which most people will tell you are the best, this might be true except for the fact that there not made to have a detachable face, i know a person who bought one authorized and all had to be replace it three times for reasons that it was stolen some people might not mind a new cd deck every other month but i'll certaintly mind replacing my lincoln ls window every other month, along with any other damages. So i never got the courage for the eclipse 8454 so i sold it brand new,

then i bought the pioneer deh-8600 that gets rave reviews from people saying that it up in par with alpine and eclipse. yeah the graphics look cool and all in the night but in the day you can't see nothing (Alpine tilting feature might come in place) and the 24bit burr brown look tempting or so i tought, don't get my wrong i read the manuals and i mess with all the crossover and what not, but for some reason it just didnt sound right so i bought the ////Alpine 9815 and listened to it and compared the two, out with the Pioneer deh-8600, in with the alpine it sounded more livelier and expanded. Well month later i bought the Alpine 9855 (I wanted Graphics and a matching lighting theme) from best buy with the 4 year protection (because of the glide touch). I couldn't be happier i have not had a problem with it i've had it for like six months or so, The Bass engine Pro is amazing, crossover slopes, 5 Band Parametric bands, or 7 Band Graphic, your choice Media expander for the mp3 or satellite radio, you can change the lighting to your interior, also you can set it up to where you can have a three way setup by converting your rear output into a midbass with crossover and frequency selection, as with most higher end decks.

I don't have a problem with the Glide touch most of the time i use the remote except in the setup menu, i think its kind of fun skimming thru all your music, personally i feel if a person doesn't have the motor skills to be able to control a five inch strip over a period of a couple of days, they probably shouldn't be on the road, (Like with any Cd deck it's not recommended to be driving and adjusting your equalizer and menus)I'm loving this Deck Looks and sounds amazing Would highly recommend to anyone with the motor skillz to control a five inch glide touch strip
