The Bottom Line:
Great sound, but lacks some features that most new cd-players have.
I have yet to find another brand of car cd player that produces as clear and crisp sounds as alpine cd players do. This cd player produces great highs, midrange, and bass for any type of music. Even when I first had them hooked up to a factory set of speakers the sound was very good. The power output is only 35 Watts per channel, but this seems to be loud enough. I have never had any problem playing copied cd's no matter what brand they are (some of these wont play in my home cd player). Other nice features are the detachable face, and the receiver can control an alpine cd-changer. However, this cd player does lack a lot of features that others have. There is no pre-amp output, so if you want to add a subwoofer you will need to buy an extra converter. The display is kind of plain and only displays the time or cd track number (but not at the same time). This cd player was nice when I bought it a few years ago, but if you are buying one today I would definitely recommend an alpine, but one with more features and power (they are absolutely worth the extra money).
