Alpine CDM-7871R Car CD Player

I was looking for a cd deck to put into my truck, and I went to the store with intentions on getting a cheep deck, that basically just played cd's. Well I ended up getting this deck, and it has everything I'd need to expand and go competition. 3 pre-outs, a 4 volt non fading sub out, bass and treble frequency control, bass band width control, and great sound reproduction. It only has the bass and treble control for the equalizer, and may leave a bit left to be desired, but its lots good enough for me. I got it about a month ago, and it hasn't given me any problems. It plays all the burned cd's that I've tried in it, and it only skipped once on me so far. When it skipped the cd I was playing was kind of scratched up, and I was on a gravel road going over washboards. So I'm forgiving about that. This deck looks SLICK at night. It may not have all the fancy colors and graphics in the display, but it is lit up very nicely. It has the push button volume, but with the mute button I think I like it better than the rotary volume controls on other decks. The mute button turns the volume down about 20 decibels, and when you click it a second time, it slowly fades the volume back up to where it was before. The controls are very simple to use, the sub control, fade, balance, and BBE are all on the mode button. The bass and treble controls have separate buttons lit up in orange at night. It has 3 different angles that you can set it on, in case you have to mount it low in your vehicle. It serves no purpose for me now, but if you ever have to mount your deck fairly low, the angle brings the display into view. The radio works very well in it also. It has a very useful D.A.P. selection. With the D.A.P. you can program the FM and Am stations into the same buttons. You can have (1) set at 1330am and (2) set at 95.1fm. So it has 6 am presets, 6 fm, and 6 D.A.P.. It has CD TEXT, but I find that it is pretty useless. I only have 1 cd that has the cd text in it, so I can only use it when I play that 1 cd. It works good when it works, but I never use it.
