Alpine CDM-9803 Car CD Player

I had the factory tape deck/AM FM stereo in my GMC truck since the day that I bought it. Well it finally went belly up and I needed something else since I don't want to listen to road noise. I found the Alpine CDM 9803 on sale at a local all you want electronics store. They installed the unit for me the next day since it was late in the day when I bought it. I had read review after review and the most positive reviews were for Alpine products. I was very pleased with what I bought. The truck still has the factory speakers but the Alpine unit put some life into these old speakers. The Alpine is everything that I had expected from it. The controls are easy to use but only after reading the manual. I highly recommend that one reads the manual before driving down the road and trying to adjust the controls. There are a lot of different adjustments on the bass and treble controls. The player allows one to select the frequency of bass and treble that you want to adjust and you can also select the bass type according to the type of speakers that are in the vehicle. The CD player is very smooth when taking and ejecting a disk but the only odd thing is the moment of silence that you get when going back to the radio from the disk player. The CD player has not skipped on me yet and it has been put to the test as I have to cross 3 sets of very rough railroads on the way to work everyday. I really like the quality of the sound from this unit and it is a very good buy. The only thing that I see on the down side is you really need to read the manual since some of the functions are not real easy to use. This stereo is worth buying.
