IVA-C800 Review
Pros
clear display and easy to use
Cons
Without switches you have to stop to get into certain menus
Recommended it?
Yes
I just currently got my Alpine IVA-C800 installed in my ride. I would have to say that this by far the best unit that I have ever owned. I've had units from Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Panasonic, and Alpine before. But, this unit has many more features such as the 6.5 inch screen. The thing that I like the most is that you can change backgrounds and select the colors that you like. The display is clear and easy to read. The built in CD player sold me on the unit. I didn't feel like having to put in a changer so, I thought this would be the way to go. Also, this unit has cool spectrum analyzers built in. Very cool. One other thing that turned me on was that it can control my Alpine ERA-G320 EQ right from the screen so, I don't have to mess with the EQ while driving. Also, if there is anyone out there that hasn't installed the switches let me know. You can install switches to simulate the brake pedal and emergency brake so you don't have to always be stopped to use the Iniz and Disp menus while driving. Well, I would have to agree with the other person who wrote on this unit. If you have the money it is definitely top of the line equipment. Oh, one last thing. Another thing that sold me was that I could hook up two Aux sources and Navigation without alot of work. I'm planning on getting the Alpine DVA-5205 DVD player. Very hookup friendly due to Ai Net hookup. It also allows hookup of non alpine video sources.
