Altec Lansing ACS 295

These speakers came with my computer package that I bought in August 2 years ago. They were great speakers; I have to say the sound quality is really good, they looked really nice and they were fairly easy to put together, install and get to work.

Unfortunately I guess my expectations were a bit high, probably since the speakers come from such a reputable company. After about a year, they started crackling and hissing even when no sound was being produced. I had to play with about 6000 different little adjustments in my computer and on the speakers themselves to get this to stop because it became unbearable.

Another year had passed and now, whenever the output wire is moved a tiny bit, the speakers stop working altogether. Power is still on, and I can hear the sound through my headphones?but the speakers just stop. I have to play with the wires for about a minute or two every time this happens, and then somehow magically the sound starts working again.

All in all, the speakers served me well for about a year and a half, to two years; but I really expected more from Altec Lansing speakers, which was my favorite sound company. I will no longer buy Altec Lansing speakers. L
