Still chugging along

I received a set of AC295 speakers nearly 2 years ago with my Dell Dimension computer system, and I must say I have been thoroughly impressed. These speakers retain their crystal clarity even at deafening volumes. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how the volume control knob works. Perhaps I missed a crucial element of setting them up.
Currently, I have the subwoofer connected to my computer's speaker out jack. I have the speakers connected to the subwoofer. I can control the output volume using the Windows Mixer, but the knob on the right speaker does nothing. Also, I can't notice any adjustment being made with the Treble and Bass controls on the speakers.
Even without the use of the on-speaker controls, these speakers have provided me excellent, rich sound quality with smooth, deep bass, and sharp, focussed treble. If you have the choice between some unpowered no-name speakers or this set with your computer, spend the extra money. You won't be disappointed.
