Definately worth the cash
I was lucky enough to have the option of upgrading my speakers when I purchased my desktop just over a year ago. Needless to say, I jumped all over that oppotunity and got the ACS 44 Altec Lansings. What a joy it has been!

excellent budget priced system!!!
i have had these for about 6 years now i bought them new for around $40
i purchased them to hook up to my alarm clock to blast myself out of bed... it worked
i have also used them with my Ipod. they have been mainly hooked up to my computer.

A Few Good Speakers
Not long ago it was quite a novelty to find computer systems with subwoofers. Times have changed and the subwoofer is the way to go if you want good sound. Better than a stereo and less than $50

The best speakers I've owned
I'll start off by saying these are the best PC speakers I have owned. I've also heard a lot of other speakers at various computer stores, computer fairs and from those owned by friends/associates and I still prefer my ACS 44's.
