Pros Decent sound, Dolby Digital

I should have saved my money. I had two options for speakers for my new Dell Computer system and I decided to spend the extra bucks for the Dolby Digital Altec Lansing ADA880 speaker system.

Pros Deep and responsive bass, simple to set up and use, sounds great even loud.
Cons Bulky and aged look, remote control no longer works, wires are a thick eyesore.

Pros Very cheap on eBay, dolby digital, large, powerful subwoofer, good enough sound.
Cons Not nearly as good as much expensive systems.

These are the speakers that got me addicted to audio! I bought these to attach to a DVD player, and hopefully enjoy some movies in dolby digital surround. Every thing about these speakers showed promise. I chose to replace my Altec 495s which I thought were a very nice sounding set of speakers with these due to the power and the ability to separate the surround speakers.

Altec Lansing?s ADA880 speaker set has been out a while now, so why bother even looking at them? Don?t they have, newer, sleeker models to choose from? Yes, however, this dynamo of a speaker set is a must have for the Computer Owner who has is all - except REALLY GOOD set of speakers.
