Pros great bass, sound quality and look.
Cons not very portable.

I purchased these recently to put with my other armada of speakers that i had purchased from a while back. I have a sub and 2 speaker set from altec lansing, and a surround sound set with 9 speakers and a subwoofer. I plugged these into my sound card output and started playing some music. The sound... Pros Beyond the cube styling, good sound for the price, convenient bass and treble controls
Cons A little over-dominant on the bass, could be crisper, no headphone jack
Recommended it? Yes

Not surprisingly, speakers were the first computer accessory to break the beige cube mold. High-end home stereo speakers have for... Read full review »

Pros Great, rich sound
Cons Placing sub-woofer difficult in cramped office
Recommended it? Yes

I'll be honest and say that for me speakers are used in conjunction with my computer not to listen to music, but to play games. I am not a stereophile, nor do I play one on TV, so I can't tell you about all the wavelength specs and such for this speaker system. In point of fact this sytem replaces... Read full review »

Pros Sleek Design, speakers are very compact, nice sound
Cons No headphone jack, sub is rather large
Recommended it? Yes

I bought these speakers to go along with a new HP computer i purchased about a month ago. It comes with speakers already, but i knew that they weren't a great pair. I decided to get the ATP3's because many people suggested them, and Altec Lansing has a reputation for having good speakers. Another... Read full review »

The ACS33s are Better than These 3!

Pros Small speakers, decent sounds.
Cons Expensive for what you get, black doesn't match much, rip-off.
Recommended it? No

Altec Lansing makes a good speaker set, but they really didn't plan well in the making of these ones. Although yes, they are a really good speaker... They aren't for the price. Altec Lansing offers almost the exact same speakers for half the price, they just aren't all "cool" looking or black. I... Read full review »

A stylish and sonic bang for your buck

Pros Rich lows and crisp highs. Very stylish design. Great performance at a very reasonable...
Cons More wires to add to the tangle behind the PC. No headphone jack.
Recommended it? Yes

Computer speakers have come as far along in the last 10 years as any other component in the typical PC, so when I stumbled across the ATP3 system, I figured it was about time to upgrade. I don't play games on my PC, nor do I routinely watch movies, but I do listen to MP3s, and occasionally some... Read full review »

Best sound for the price paid!

Pros Volume Bass and Treble Controls, Very stylish look, Great mids and highs, Great deal!
Cons Lacks Clean Bass, "Volume Knob problem", Not enough power, Downfiring mids
Recommended it? Yes

When it comes to the Altec Lansing ATP3, I've been left with some rather mixed emotions. First thing is first though, for the money paid, in my opinion, you won't find a much better sound out of a 2.1 system. I mean, the highs are beautiful and the mids and lows are decent. Considering you can... Read full review »

Cons bit of a loud amp

If your on a tight budget and dont really need the head banging experience of more powerful speakers, than these are just the set for you. I had my previous set of speakers die on me and it took a while to get a brand name set of speakers. being on a budget of AUD$200 (USD$100) and having limited... Read full review »

These sound much better than most speakers costing twice as much!

byvdublunut Jun 12, 2003

Pros Outstanding sound quality! Unbeatable value. Separate bass & treble, on/off volume...
Cons Color may not match your PC... Are you entering your PC in a fashion show??
Recommended it? Yes

Before buying this system, I listened to at least a dozen other speakers for less than $100 (including Yamaha, Cambridge, Logitech, etc.) and there was absolutely no comparison in frequency range, overall sound quality, bass response and sheer volume from a 3 piece system. As an acoustic musician,... Read full review »

I've heard much better ... from cheaper components

Pros Volume control+adjustment+power control on speaker. Very different look. Period.
Cons Fair to poor midrange/vocal output. No headphone output on speaker.
Recommended it? No

I listen to music and play games on my computer on a daily basis. I have been using a pair of Cambridge PCWorks 3piece speaker system which can be purchased for $30. These sound good, but after 3 years, I really wanted bass adjustments and power on/off on the speakers themselves, rather than on the... Read full review »
