The Bottom Line:
If you are shopping for speakers on a budget, look no further. For $30, the AVS300s provide good, rich sound.
I bought a set of AVS300s a few weeks ago to upgrade an old set of generic speakers on my PC and, honestly, I wasn't expecting much - I just wanted something that was a little better than I had.
After I had set them up, I was quite surprised at the sound quality - the bass is solid and the high end clear. Indeed, I had to turn the bass module down a bit since it rattled the window panes in my small home office. After some adjustment, I got the satellites situated right and the subwoofer adjusted properly and I've been happy with the sound ever since. If I had a nitpick, it would be that sometimes the midrange can be a bit clipped at high volumes, but I don't typically listen to music at a high volume while I'm working so it doesn't bother me.
I know there are better speaker out there, but I don't think there are better speakers out there for $30.
