The Bottom Line:
Hey I would buy another! 4? stars.
Actually the TV we purchased from Sears is the GB43HD10 for $699. Since there is no sales tax in Alaska and I brought it home in my truck that was the final cost. It helps that I'm a pretty big guy so I was able to move it around with just a little help from my wife (and a lot of help from my trusty dolly). Once I got it in the garage the rest was a snap. I took it out of the box and soon found out the TV is on a sturdy set of casters. We put the new TV in the family room, because the family doesn't much like to go down to the den in the basement (it's mine alone ;-)). It was easy moving into the house and setting it up where our old 32" Toshiba sat (it was harder wrestling with the Toshiba). It took about a ? hour to get my components hooked up (digital cable & Panasonic 5 disk progressive scan DVD). I was pleased that th TV has Progressive Component hook ups and a couple of S-Video inputs. The built in speaker system though not high end is certainly the match of any of the mid price Home Theater in a box systems I've heard (face it though nothing compares to a high end component system). We do have a "high end" Home Theater individual component system in the basement (Dad's Den - 36" Sony WEGA TV, Sony Super-VHS VCR, Panasonic Progressive 5 disk DVD-same as in the family room, H-K AVR 430 A/V Tuner and Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Speakers ) I do know how to set up a HTS. I pulled out my Avia Home Theater setup guide and I was very pleased that I only had to do 3 tweaks (2 on the picture and 1 on the sound)! The TV has exceeded my expectations. I must admit that the digital cable picture is clean and crisp and DVD movies are most excellent. For the price and ease of set up I deem it an excellent deal. As an aside I suggest that if you do purchase this unit you buy some best quality Monster Cables! Yeah you'll spend an extra few bucks, but it will make a difference in the quality of picture and sound.
