Apex Digital GB55HD09W 55 in. TV

We bought the Apex from Amazon and it arrived fully assembled and ready to roll in place and plug in. It was the best deal with the largest screen and most features for the least money. In April 2004 the set sold for $1100 plus $200 shipping. The initial picture quality was fair, but a quick (5 minutes) one time adjustment procedure brought the picture quality up to very good. Overall we are satisfied with the set. On the plus side: the picture is very good, particularly with DVD's, there are multiple viewing size options - Normal, Zoom, Wide Zoom, and Full,there are many setup options available on an easy to use menu, and there is an easy access pop out side port for inputs from a camcorder or digital camera. On the minus side: the remote is oddly organized with buttons performing multiple, unrelated funtions and the volume occasionally goes up (never down) on its own.
